The new Westport Middle-High School is an 860-student public school. The student-oriented model for rural 21st century education positions middle school students on one side of the building and high school students on the other, brought together around a unique central cafeteria/learning commons and courtyards. With advanced technology capabilities and an emphasis on STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics), the ground floor includes a maker space, fabrication labs and childcare vocational spaces. The project showcases new athletic fields for soccer, field hockey, baseball and softball, in addition to a walking track, tennis courts and a 300-car parking lot.
