This new school for 1,160 students in grades Pre-K - 4 creates 3 ‘schools within a school’ to help each child feel like a welcome part of an easily identifiable community.  The architecture gives each cohort its own geographic identity, greeting area, and administration.  The scale is further broken down by organizing all classrooms into clusters of four with direct visual connections to shared open collaborative learning spaces - reinforcing that crucial sense of belonging, knowing each other, and being known.  All three learning communities radiate from a shared cafetorium/general learning commons, media center, music, art, and da Vinci classrooms. This brilliantly illuminated central space, with its surrounding stairs, will engender a sense of school pride and identity as part of the overall school community.

Size: 131,000 gsf
